Colors of Earth
We need LAND to build our homes on and grow our food. We need WATER to drink and to bathe. We also need AIR to breathe.
I wonder what color the AIR is.
Earth is often shown in 3 colors. We see these colors in Earth drawings, images, art, and photos from outer space.
Name something that is BLUE. Allow children to name things they think are blue, either inside or outside. When we look at Earth from outer space we can see blue.
That's the WATER.
Name something that is GREEN. Allow children to name things they think are green, either inside or outside. When we look at Earth from outer space we can see green. That's the LAND.
Allow children to name different colors for AIR. We can't see air, but we need to breathe air to live. Air is full of clouds, and clouds make Earth look WHITE from space.
