How does this work, exactly?

Step 1) You purchase a School Sponsorship ($550) and fill out the form to let us know what school you will be sponsoring and a little bit about your company.

Step 2) Reach out to a contact at the school to let them know that your business will be gifting or sponsoring The Earth Friends Program for their school. (Some businesses might want to do this before purchasing.) We will support your business and the school anyway we can to make this happen, but Earth Friends asks that you be the person to share the sponsorship news, because that communication is what can foster the community connections we are hoping to build. We are here for information sessions and to help the school choose individuals to become educators and learn how to implement the program.

What if I don’t know what school to sponsor or our school is not interested at this time?

That’s okay! If you want to support but are not sure who or how, we will help you find a school or learning site in your nearby area. We can do this anywhere in the United States! Even without a personal connection, this is a really great way support the youngest members of your community and to introduce people to what you do and get to know each other.

How do I raise the money?

Any way you want to! That is not something Earth Friends can direct, however here are some ideas.

• 10% of your purchase goes to Earth Friends

• 50% of proceeds of a certain product’s sales go Earth Friends

• host a lil’ fundraiser with your customer base or community for a $550 donation to Earth Friends

• ask staff or employees to donate an amount to Earth Friends to reach $550.

Why can’t Earth Friends set up a donation platform for my business?

For one, every business will be different and it would be hard to find one streamlined way to work it out best for all. And, more importantly, two, we want School Sponsorships to genuinely foster community. Rally around a cause for people and planet. Let people in your community see green businesses and schools collaborating and coming together. If we set it up, it wouldn’t have the same community coming together feel, would it?

Is there anything in it for my business?

We get it. You need to justify this expense (in the budget) or the (time and effort) spent creating your own fundraiser or special promotion to raise $550.

With this effort, your business will potentially have connection to a lot more members of your community through families, teachers, and friends who will hear about your business’s chosen support for the school. We also hope it feels really good to ready children for this crazy world ahead with resilience, information, and collaboration.

And from us at Earth Friends your business will receive:

• a school sponsorship highlight in our newsletter and on social

• logo + blurb inclusion on our website as a School Sponsor

• potential to reach a wider base by selling your product or service in our store or speak as a guest in our community of practice

All that said, you can absolutely remain anonymous in your giving or you can skip the website inclusion. We want this to be what feels good to you.
